Allam Iqbal Express at Sialkot Junction Platform 1

The Allam Iqbal Express is a daily Express train presently plying between Sialkot and Karachi, the two industrial cities and business hubs.

History

It is one of the oldest express train of Pakistan. The train was introduced long back in around 1940 as express train via Faisalabad to Karachi. It was called Shaheen Express before being renamed in 1985. It was redirected in 1998 via Wazirabad Lahore line and later on in 2004, it was redirected via Narowal Lahore Line.

Origin of Name

Named after Dr Muhammad Iqbal the famous poet.
