Kongu express(2647/2648) is a superfast Indian Railways weekly train between Coimbatore and H.Nizamuddin. The train got this name because the Coimbatore zone is traditionally called Kongunadu. The train passes through Bangalore, Secunderabad, Nagpur, Bhopal, Agra, with a total of 27 intermediate stations. The train starts on Wednesdays from Nizamuddin, and on Sundays from Coimbatore, covering the total distance of 2716 km. in approximately 47 hours.
