Los Angeles Live Steamers Railroad Museum (LALS) is a non-profit public benefit corporation that was founded in 1956 by train enthusiasts for the purpose of educating people in railroad history and lore and to further the avocation of live steam, gas-mechanical and electronic scale model railroad technology.
Walt Disney's Carolwood Pacific Railroad "Barn" (his personal model railroad workshop building) was loaned to the City of Los Angeles by the Walt Disney Family Foundation in 1999 by Disney's heirs. The Barn is located at the area of the Los Angeles Live Steamers and is open free to the public on the third Sunday of each month 11 am to 3 pm. Guided tours are provided by members of the Carolwood Pacific Historical Society.
