Lucy Turnbull, née Hughes, (born 1958), is an Australian politician and former Lord Mayor of Sydney and is the wife of Federal Member for Wentworth and Leader of the Opposition, Malcolm Turnbull. Lucy Turnbull is the first female Lord Mayor of Sydney. She was educated at the Frensham School, in Mittagong, south of Sydney.

She is the daughter of the prominent Sydney Queen's Counsel, the Hon. Tom Hughes, a former Australian Attorney-General.

Lucy Turnbull held the position of Lord Mayor until early 2004, when the New South Wales Labor Party Government, under Bob Carr, sacked and re-amalgamated the City of Sydney and South Sydney Councils. (Clover Moore is the present Lord Mayor of Sydney).

She is also a member of the Board of Governors of the Woolcock Institute of Medical Research, a respiratory and sleep research institute and a member of the Advisory Board of the National Portrait Gallery. She is the Chair of the Salvation Army's city of Sydney Red Shield Appeal for 2007 and the Commissioner of the Australian Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale for 2006 and 2008. She is a member of the board of the Centre of Independent Studies. She is a member of the Commonwealth of Nations' Commission on Respect and Understanding, chaired by Amartya Sen.

She is a Director of Turnbull & Partners Pty. Ltd, an investment company, and a Director of Melbourne IT Limited, an Australian-based Internet services company which provides global internet services. In early 2006 was appointed Administrator of Tweed Shire Council in northern NSW. Lucy is also the Deputy Chair of the Committee for Sydney.

She is a member of the Redfern Waterloo Authority. Her background is in commercial law and investment banking. Her husband won the Federal Seat of Wentworth in the 2004 election. The Turnbulls have two children, Alex and Daisy.
