The Moscow Monorail Transit System (MMTS) (Russian: Московская Монорельсовая Транспортная Система (ММТС)) is a monorail system located in the Severo-Vostochny (North-Eastern) administrative district of Moscow (Russia). With a length of 4.7 kilometres, it links the Timiryazevskaya and VDNKh metro stations with four intermediate stops. Planning had started in 1998 and the line was opened to passengers on 30 November 2004, although only in a "tourist mode". On 10 January 2008, normal operations started, meaning a reduction in ticket prices (from $2 to the standard Moscow rapid transport prices) and more frequent trains.
