Mount Waverley is a railway station in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia, located in the suburb of Mount Waverley, on the Glen Waverley railway line. Mount Waverley is classed as a Premium Station and is in Metcard Zone 2 FacilitiesThe station is located at the western end of the Stephensons Road rail underpass and between Miller Cresent and Hamilton Place, all providing platform access. The station consists of two side platforms: Platform 1 (citybound) has a large brick building with an enclosed waiting room, a ticket office and toilets, while platform 2 (Glen Waverley bound) has a smaller brick building. A large Metcard machine is located inside the waiting room, which is able to dispense most ticketing options available and also accept notes and coins. A small Metcard machine is located at the entrance to platform 2. An underpass is situated at the citybound end of the station. HistoryMount Waverley station opened on May 5, 1930. The station building was reconstructed in 1975.1 It was upgraded to Premium Station status on January 18, 19952, the first Premium station in Melbourne. References
